Composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Pascal Miousse has earned a reputation as one of the most distinctive fiddle and guitar players of his generation. His gift for melodic improvisation, raw energy and unmistakable musical presence captivate audiences wherever he plays. Born in the Magdalen Islands, Pascal draws his repertoire and fiddle style from the islands’ musical traditions, while bringing a contemporary sensibility to every performance.
The son of a Magdalen Islands guitarist, Pascal grew up surrounded by traditional music. He studied both classical and traditional styles from a young age, then left the islands as a teenager to broaden his musical horizons. He has since become a passionate champion of the music and repertoire of his home.
Pascal has performed with numerous Canadian artists and groups across a wide range of styles, from traditional music to swing, rock and blues. An in-demand instructor at music camps and workshops around the world, he loves sharing his tradition and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
