Steve Roy is a musician/educator/violin maker from Eliot, ME, who plays and teaches Upright Bass, Mandolin, Violin and Ukulele. He Currently Performs with Old Hat Stringband, as well as many other groups throughout New England and the Northeast. He has also toured and performed internationally with many of the top acts in the bluegrass/acoustic world, including Laurie Lewis, Molly Tuttle, Joe K Walsh, David Surette, and many more. Steve is a faculty member at Portsmouth Music and Arts Center and 317 Main Community music Center in Yarmouth, ME, and he also the Program Director for Nimblefingers Bluegrass and Old-Time Workshop in British Columbia. Steve has been working in the violin shop of Jonathan Cooper in Portland, ME for nearly a decade, and is proud to carry on the tradition of violin making in Maine.
