Marie Hamilton, originally from Vermont and equally at home in Montréal, is a harpist, vocalist and end-of-life doula whose work centers on care and human connection. With a background in music studies from McGill University, Marie blends formal training with a primarily self-taught, intuitive approach to the harp, offering calm, solace and gentle presence to those at the edges of life or seeking stillness. She shares her music in therapeutic environments including palliative care units, women’s safe housing, shelters for the unhoused, and others. She also brings joy to diverse gatherings, performing with dancers, accompanying aerialists, playing at farmers’ markets, enchanted forest walks, art installations and even wrestling matches. She sees music not as performance, but as communion: with others, herself, and the timeless harp tradition.
