Emmanuelle LeBlanc is an Acadian multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, dancer, and educator from Prince Edward Island, Canada. A co-founder of the internationally touring group Vishtèn, she has spent more than two decades sharing Acadian music and culture on stages, at festivals, and in classrooms across North America, Europe, and beyond.
Deeply rooted in the musical traditions of her home community, Emmanuelle plays whistles, bodhrán, octave mandolin and piano, and is also known for her foot percussion, step dancing, singing, and turlutte. Her work explores the rhythm, repertoire, stories, and distinctive musical language of Acadian tradition while finding creative ways to carry it forward.
Alongside her performing career, Emmanuelle is a passionate teacher who loves helping musicians experience traditional music beyond simply learning the notes — digging into rhythm, phrasing, groove, accompaniment, and the cultural context that gives the music its character. She teaches workshops and ensembles in Acadian music, rhythm, dance, and song, and is the co-founder of PEI Trad Academy, an online learning platform dedicated to sharing Acadian traditional music and dance.
